On their last tour, metalcore band We Came As Romans covered UK boy band The Wanted’s “Glad You Came,” with their live rendition of the song winding up on their DVD. We defended their choice of covering the song based on the fact that The Wanted’s backing band includes members of Thursday, Primitive Weapons and From Autumn to Ashes. Now the band have released a video for their cover of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” which will be on Fearless Records’ Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6” which will be out on November 17. There’s no real reason to defend this one. WCAR appear to be transforming pretty much into a boy band. In between this and The Wanted, it’ll be interesting to hear what their next record sounds like. They don’t appear to have much interest in metal cred, or even metalcore cred, which is fine if that’s what they’re into.  Check the Pop Goes Punk, Vol. 6 track listing after the video.
