Soulfly is well into its US tour with Dino Cazares of Fear Factory filling in on guitar. You may remember that we reported on the departure of longtime Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo from the band and his subsequent replacement by FF guitarist Dino Cazares for their fall tour.

Well, we got a hold of fan filmed footage of the band, with Dino, at The Gramercy Theatre playing a brand new song called “Filth Upon Filth.” Watch down below. A track that Soulfly has been working on for the past few months. In fact they have been working on a brand new album and in a recent interview, mastermind, Max Cavalera spoke about the upcoming record.

“We’re still tracking right now. So the record is not gonna come out till next year. It’s a little bit of a long process. Because of COVID and everything, it had to be done a little bit differently. Actually, we’re gonna play one song called “Filth Upon Filth” on this tour. It’s a killer song. It reminds me of old Slayer; it sounds like Slayer ‘Hell Awaits’ era meets Soulfly, which is always a good thing.”

He added:

“We still need to record drums. Right now we just really have the songs written — all the riffs. So we’re still building the music. But we did have one full song, which is ‘Filth Upon Filth’, and we get to play that on the next tour, which is great. So people do get a taste of the new record, which I think is amazing — to be able to give them a taste.”

Be sure to check out the bands latest digital EP, Live Ritual NYC MMXIX. Like the fan shot footage below, Live Ritual was shot at The Gramercy Theatre in New York City in 2019 during the Ritual Tour.

You can expect the Soulfly tour to continue till the end of September.

Remaining tour dates can be found here.
