Body Count were nominated for yesterday’s (28th) 60th Grammy Awards for ‘Best Metal Performance.’ Despite the group losing to Mastodon for their song “Sultan’s Curse,” they performed their nominated track, “Black Hoodie” during the pre-ceremony. It was a breath of fresh air for an otherwise staid ceremony. “I’m doing this for metal,” Ice-T proclaimed. And while the police brutality anthem was relegated to the un-televised portion of the awards, at least they were allowed to play the politically-charged song.
