Brooklyn rock trio The Phantom Eye have teamed up with Metal Insider to premiere a video for the song “Urgency Calling.” The track is taken from the group’s debut EP, Chromethesia, which is out now via Apple Music, Spotify, Bandcamp. The EP introduces the band’s psychedelic and shoegaze style as their latest single is another example of their evolving sound.

The group featuring drummer Larry Hundertmark (ex-Neck), guitarist Pete Ross (Godmaker), and keyboardist Rob McKinney (ex-Ascent of Everest) started out jamming in a dirty basement before making things official. By the fall of 2019, the group hit the studio to record their debut EP. Chromesthesia initially had an instrumental direction; however, vocals were added to the mix to complete their desired vision.

The group comments on the track:

“Urgency Calling” was the first song composed by the band, it’s only appropriate that they cut a video of their time playing in the studio. Starting as a slow dirge, the song builds into a momentous crescendo then trailing off into the ether.”
