UK punk/hardcore band The Hell have had no problem trolling the music industry in the past, be it Death Grips’ breakup, Upon a Burning Body’s disappearance, or taking on metalcore. Now they’ve gone and made a music video for a cover of Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me.” The impetus appears to be a petition to keep the Canadian band out of the UK. Here’s what they said about it:

“WE SAW ALL THE PETITIONS AND CROWDFUNDS AND SHIT GOING AROUND TO STOP THE NICKELBACKS PLAYING IN THE UK SO WE THOUGHT WE’D GIVE THE FANS SOMETHING TO ENJOY. I DON’T GET THE HATE ON THEM PERSONALLY, I MEAN MY MUM AND ALL HER OLDER MATES LOVE THE NICKELBACKS PLUS I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT HOW COCKER SPANIEL ADOPTIONS HAVE QUADRUPLED SINCE THE NICKELBACKS HIT THE CHARTS”

The video is, well, hysterical. Musically, the take is relatively faithful to the original. The vocals, on the other hand sound like a cross between South Park and Seth Putnam from A.C. While Nickelback probably could care less about the band, according to The Hell’s Facebook page, the band have responded on Twitter. Given that it’s nowhere to be found on Nickelback’s twitter, it’s likely more of a joke than an actual post, though.
