03) Corey Taylor halts San Bernardino performance due to dangerous mosh pit
Things heated up on the second stop of the Knotfest Roadshow and it had nothing to do with the hot San Bernardino, CA weather. On Saturday (27th), the dangerous fire started during Volbeat’s performance as fans set their t-shirts on fire, waved them above their heads, and dance around just before security extinguished the dangerous hazard.

While Security stopped the fire, they couldn’t predict what was next to come. During Slipknot’s performance, the mosh pit escalated rather quickly and dangerously as Corey Taylor halted the group’s performance to essentially tell them to chill.
Taylor shouted:
“Back the fuck up! No one is fucking getting hurt on my fucking watch. Do you understand me? Back the fuck up! Now give me a scream, motherfuckers!”
Fans who attended the show reported via Reddit on the intensity of what happened in the moshpit, which included a fan getting pushed down to the ground and passing out, a girl was spotted with cuts on her legs who also had a seizure.

“Dude for real! Same in my area! kids and females were on the ground (hurt or unconscious) while people were still running around over them! If Corey (slipknot) hadn’t stopped the song it could of been worse. That opening song was fucking brutal in the pit!! At one point the rail was being pushed so hard that security had to hold it for it not to tip!”

“Bro that was straight up insane at the start. During the huge push on the first song a dude went down near me and was passed out face down on the ground
Every time I pushed as hard as I could to get some room it instantly filled back up with people I was getting pushed on top of him too. I was seriously worried this dude was going to die down there. I’m pretty beefy and luckily there was another huge dude right there too but it still took both of us giving it our absolute everything, for probably a minute or so, he was going limp then waking up and going limp etc. the whole time hes just in a daze saying help me please help me please
Once we got him up he kept going back out of consciousness and almost falling back down, hauling that dude from basically row 4 from the rail all the way to the back was tough but we saved that dude.
There had to have been more too it was seriously sketchy at the start sounds like everyone went home ok though so I’m stoked”

“I’m all for the rowdiness in the pit but geez, have some fucking courtesy to pick someone up/help someone in need. We all go there to have fun in the pit & watch slipknot. The amount of injuries I saw today was crazy. At the end of the day, the last thing we want is to find out that someone was seriously hurt in there then could ruin future shows with maybe no pit ( believe shoreline 9/26/19 venue had no pit ). I love the pit, you meet so many great people… You headbang, sing, run, jump. That’s our space. Just a PSA that we gotta be safe while having fun.”
Knotfest SB was crazy fucking good. Mosh pits were so fucking rowdy, crazy good but some chicks started to get trampled & have seizures. Corey got mad, he stopped the song because people wouldn’t stop moving to get EMT In. from r/Slipknot
For those who plan on seeing Slipknot, please do not start any fires, look out for each other, and have a great time.
