It’s difficult to believe that November 1st will be the four year mark since Wayne Static passed away. Next year will be significant for the group as it will mark ten years since the group’s latest effort Cult of Static as well as the twentieth anniversary of their debut album Wisconsin Death Trip. With that said, the group issued their first statement on social media since Wayne’s death to announce their return.
The band’s original lineup Tony Campos (bass), Ken Jay (drums) and Koichi Fukuda (guitar) has officially reformed and will release a new album titled Project Regeneration tentatively during the spring of 2019. The record will feature the last recordings of Wayne as well as newly recorded and previously unreleased Static-X tracks. The LP will also feature a number of guest musicians. The band will embark on a world tour that will coincide with the 20th anniversary of their debut album.
The group stated:
“Hey there everyone. Its been a long time since we’ve posted and we have something very special to share with you! In memory of Wayne and in celebration of the upcoming 20 year anniversary of Wisconsin Death Trip. We give you PROJECT REGENERATION”
