Metallica’s James Hetfield falls down at recent Amsterdam gig

Metallica recently kicked off the European trek of their WorldWired tour and while this particular run doesn’t involve outdoor stadiums, it looks like the new indoor setup needs an adjustment. During last night’s (4) performance at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, frontman James Hetfield fell during the sixth song, “Now That We’re Dead.”

His drop wasn’t like other tumbles we have seen. This one occurred when a small hole on the stage opened up, which was meant for one of the four percussion tables to rise from. Unfortunately, Hetfield plunged directly into this gap and in the footage below, you can see a concerned looking Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo. Crew members arrived a few seconds later to help him get back on his feet.

Luckily, there were no serious injuries and the show continued.
