Another night, and another on-air performance by Metallica on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. On Wednesday evening the band performed “For Whom the Bell Tolls” from their 1984 album, Ride the Lightning (one of our top 5 Sophomore albums).

During Monday’s interview segment, drummer Lars Ulrich discussed how the band stays fresh on the road:

“We still get a kick out of it. We do it much shorter increments now, we kind of have a two week rule in our band. We do the two week grind and then we roll home, and it also sort of prevents you from falling off the deep end, so it serves multiple purposes.”

Metallica has previously played “Hit the Lights” and “Fuel” earlier this week, and will be performing tonight and Friday.
