Last night (29), Marduk returned to New York City and while we were there to capture the event, Elliott Fullam from Little Punk People spent time backstage speaking with guitarist Morgan Hakansson at the Gramercy Theatre. The two shared an interesting conversation, touching a variety of subjects including death, religion, fate, his favorite non-metal albums, and more. Hakansson revealed his interest in classical music such as Bach and Handel, along with sharing Consider the Birds by Woven Hand as one of his favorite albums.

When asked if the Swedish black metallers are working on a new record, the guitarist revealed they are always working on new material. He explained how they write separately and plan to place the material together once the touring cycle is complete.

He explained:

“More or less, we have the album complete.”

Later, Fullam was amazed on the band’s endless work ethic and Hakansson replied with:

“Only death can slow you down.”
