We’re not sure if the members of Kvelertak were alive in 1985, but if they were, let’s assume they lived a hell of a different life than we did. One that involves jumping naked into pools, beating people into a bloody pulp, blowing up toilets, throwing shit out of abandoned warehouses and terrorizing a family. The band’s just-released video for “1985” is like a cross between Jackass and A Clockwork Orange, and if it’s to be believed, the Norwegian band are the kinds of guys that would be fun to hang out with until they got drunk – and then they got mean. We’re guessing, although they haven’t said yet, that the song title is a takeoff of Van Halen’s 1984, since it’s a riffy rocker that finds the band calming down their triple-guitar attack and writing a song that David Lee Roth could riff over if he wanted to.
The band’s album, Nattesferd, will be out on May 13th on Roadrunner. You can preorder it here. And check them out on tour starting next week. Check those dates out here.
