Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett kicked off his Kirk Hammett The Collection: Live book tour on April 25 at TIFF Lightbox in Toronto, celebrating the launch of his new coffee table book, The Collection: Kirk Hammett.
The tour continues with upcoming stops in Nashville (May 2), Columbus (May 10), Philadelphia (May 24), Tampa (June 7), and Denver (June 28). Each event features an intimate conversation between Hammett and Gibson’s Mark Agnesi.
Published by Gibson Publishing, The Collection is a 400-page premium hardcover book showcasing Hammett’s rare guitar collection and career milestones – from his early days in Exodus to over 40 years with Metallica. The book includes exclusive photography by Ross Halfin and new interviews, with featured guitars like the iconic 1979 Gibson Flying V and “Greeny” 1959 Les Paul Standard.
As part of their visit to Toronto, Metallica also donated $40,000 to the city’s Daily Bread Food Bank through their All Within My Hands Foundation (AWMH). The contribution will help support hunger relief efforts amid Toronto’s growing food insecurity crisis.
