Birmingham honored the late Ozzy Osbourne with a private ceremony celebrating his life, legacy, and lasting impact on his hometown. Held on what would have been Ozzy’s 77th birthday, on Wednesday (3rd), the event saw the Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Ken Wood, posthumously presented the Lord Mayor’s Award to Ozzy’s daughter, Kelly Osbourne, who accepted the distinction on her father’s behalf. Councillor Zafar Iqbal MBE also presented her with the city’s Books of Condolence, filled with thousands of messages written after Ozzy’s passing in July.

Kelly Osbourne issued the below special video message, expressing:

“Hello, I’m Kelly Osbourne, and I just wanna take a second to thank the people of Birmingham for not only showing my family so much love, but for showing up for my father in a way that made him the happiest man on the planet. I mean, we’re here today receiving the Lord Mayor’s Award. We got to see the Books Of Condolences that have hundreds of thousands of signatures in it. It’s beyond our wildest dreams. We can’t thank you enough. The one thing that my father was most proud of is that he was a Brummie, and Birmingham has done him proud.”
