With the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Fest lineup unveiled, there aren’t all that many new or developing bands on the bill. Both Victory and Sumerian have their own stages, and most of the bands there have at least three albums out. However, King 810, appearing on the Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage, are unsigned. The band take the three numbers at the end of the name from the area code of their hometown of Flint, Michigan. They’ve unveiled a video for the song “Killem All.” It’s definitely a visually interesting video, showing gang violence, cops getting fired on, prison riots and war contrasted with the job loss and poverty in their hometown. The song itself is decidedly nu-metalish, and somewhat remeniscent of downset., which should go over well on Mayhem. Until now, their only other national spotlight came from their performance leading to a cancellation of a The Contortionist show. Hopefully they’ve gotten that out of their system.
