Later this week, the Vans Warped Tour kicks off, an annual rite of summer for punk, emo, metal and hardcore fans and bands. Every Time I Die will be back on the tour again after taking a year off, and when they hit the road starting on June 24th, they’ll be doing so to support a new album, their eighth. Low Teens will be released after punk rock summer camp, on September 23rd. The band debuted a new song from the album, “The Coin Has A Say,” via Rolling Stone. Keith Buckley shared a touching story about his daughter with us this on Sunday in honor of Father’s Day, but a press release says that many of the album’s lyrics were informed by his wife’s pregnancy scare, which found him leaving the band’s tour to rush to be with her.
Low Teens (which refers to temperature, not teenagers) was recorded and produced by Will Putney and features guest vocals from Tim Singer (Deadguy, Kiss It Goodbye) and Panic! At The Disco’s Brendan Urie, which is about as diverse as you can get. Here’s the track listing of the album:
1. Fear And Trembling
2. Glitches
3. C++ (Love Will Get You Killed)
4. Two Summers
5. Awful Lot
6. I Didn’t Want To Join Your Stupid Cult Anyway
7. It Remembers
8. Petal
9. The Coin Has A Say
10. Religion Of Speed
11. Just As Real But Not As Brightly Lit
12. 1977
13. Map Change
