Coheed and Cambria don’t have a typical metal audience. They attract fans of emo and prog rock alongside those that like the heavier side of them. However, they also apparently have a younger audience than some might think. Like really younger. Apparently, frontman Claudio Sanchez gave an impromptu performance for a group of kindergarten students on the streets of Brooklyn yesterday. As explained in the YouTube clip, “Claudio is stopped by a passing group of Kindergarten students and their teachers, who request a quick sidewalk performance in Brooklyn this morning – so he gives them an unreleased Coheed track.” Not bad, kids. He isn’t really playing guitar though, so maybe the kids felt gypped. Or maybe it was the first time they’ve ever seen a guitar. In other less awesome, but still cool, news, the  band released a lyric video for “Eraser.” It’s not like the words are that hard to understand, but here they are  in front of you.

The Color Before the Sun will be released next Friday (16) on 300 Entertainment. You can preorder it here.
