Ethereal folk trio Auri, featuring Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish), and Troy Donockley, have announced their third studio album, III – Candles & Beginnings, scheduled to arrive on August 15 via Nuclear Blast. A cinematic video directed by Ville Lipiäinen for the first single, “Shieldmaiden,” is now available. Auri will also embark on their first-ever European tour this August.
Donockley comments:
“Our new album Auri lll is waiting to be released, and one of its songs, ‘Shieldmaiden’, has already escaped. It’s a mysterious song, obscured by its own slow rising power. Auri thrives on mystery and ambiguity so all is well…”
