Last Sunday, Andrew Hurley and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy included a sample of Slayer’s “Raining Blood” in a “drum off” that the two partake in regularly on their current tour. This particular part of the show also includes samples of Jay Z and Kanye West songs, while the addition of Slayer appears to have become a permanent part of the performance. Sure, the thought of Fall Out Boy including a sample of any Slayer song might be appalling to some fans (even though Hurley has played in a handful of hardcore bands, while also did The Damned Things with his FOB bandmate Joe Trohman). But if Fall Out Boy playing a snippet of Slayer introduces a bunch of younger fans to heavier music, then who are we to complain? Check out the video of the “drum off” above.
