We’ve been talking about supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, comprised by The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Benjamin Weinman, Mastodon’s Brent Hinds, and Alice In Chains singer William DuVall, among others, for half a decade already but we haven’t really heard anything from them aside from this snippet. At this point, all we knew it was that there’s such collaboration band happening but couldn’t tell how real it was, but it seems like we’re actually gonna get some tangible work from them and see them live this year.
Late last year, we reported that the band was on the final stages of their recording process for their yet-to-be-named debut album but haven’t really heard more details about its release or the state of the band. But today, it was revealed the band will make their debut on stage this year at the annual ‘Reading‘ and ‘Leeds‘ festivals in the UK.
The festival, which takes place in two different cities over the same weekend, will feature the band on Reading location on Saturday, August 27th and at Leeds location on Sunday, August 28th. At the same time, some members will have double duty at the festival as Mastodon and Dillinger Escape Plan are performing the same festival on those dates.
Sure, that’s not exactly what you wanted to read but at least we know the band will be playing their debut material by then, meaning we may get the new record around that time and hopefully get a US live debut soon. We’ll just have to wait a little bit more.
