Last week, it was revealed that DevilDriver bassist Aaron “Bubble” Patrick had been hospitalized with pneumonia. A few days later, Patrick was officially diagnosed with Streptococcus Pneumonia, which has caused damage to his liver, kidneys and bone marrow. Last night, though, frontman Dez Fafara shared some good news via Twitter.

According to Fafara, Patrick has been released from the hospital. It is unclear how soon the bassist will be able to rejoin the band on the road, though it’s likely that his former Bury Your Dead bandmate Chris Towning will continue to fill in during the Metal Alliance Tour. While he’ll surely need more time to rest, we’re happy to hear that Patrick’s recovery is going well.

Now that he’s out of the hospital, friends and family have been making an effort to help raise funds for Patrick’s medical bills. Donations can be made directly via PayPal at Aarongregorypatrick[at]gmail.com.
