It’s been four years to the day since Tool’s last album, the awesome 10,000 Days, came out, which is actually only 1461 days. But the band isn’t letting the fact that they don’t have a current album stopping them from touring this summer. Tool is the Grateful Dead of heavy music, both because they have annoying fans that border on cult fanatics, and because they don’t need to have an album out to tour and sell out. However, unlike the Dead, their singer is still alive and they always put on an amazing show. Theprp.com suggests that initial dates see them playing Canada and secondary markets, while their official site only lists  Canadian dates, which go on sale this Friday. More dates will be announced shortly, with an on-sale date of May 8.

In other Tool-related news, singer Maynard James Keenan revealed via his Twitter account that he’s working on an album compiling the music that appears in his documentary Blood Into Wine.
