There’s a pretty short list of ’80s thrash bands that have not only stood the test of time, but are still putting out relevant music that stands alongside their earliest work. Testament and Exodus are two of those bands and they’ve just announced that they’ll be touring together. The Dark Roots of Thrash II tour has been announced, and the five week tour will find the two metal heavyweights joined by Shattered Sun. The tour includes a previously-announced stop at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, and while the below dates are on sale now, there will be additional dates announced soon.
Testament will be paying tribute to their, um, legacy by playing their first two album, The Legacy and The New Order, in their entirety, as well as select cuts off their third album, Practice What You Preach. This will also mark the first time bassist Steve DiGiorgio will have played live with the band since rejoining them last year. The first Dark Roots of Thrash tour featured Testament along with Overkill and Flotsam and Jetsam. Here’s what Chuck Billy had to say about the tour:
