For the past few years, Slayer have been doing a pretty solid job of picking their openers, essentially lining up tour packages that would have been awesome lineups 25 years ago to scratch that demographic of metalheads that still look back to the glory days of ’80s thrash. A few years ago, they brought out Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus. After King Diamond joined them for the Mayhem Festival, they followed that up with a tour with Testament and Carcass. Today, they just announced that this Fall, they’ll be touring with two more ’80s thrash titans – Anthrax and Death Angel.
The tour will start on September 9 and continue across North America for the next seven weeks. It will include a stop at the Rock Allegiance festival in Chester, PA. Presale tickets for Slayer fans start tomorrow (10) at 10am local time, with general onsale this Friday (13) at 10am local time. You can get all the details on Slayer’s website. Kerry King is psyched about it:
“It’s always super fun for us to tour with Anthrax. Frank is one of my best friends in the biz!! Put that together with Death Angel, and fans will probably see the best package this year. See you there!”
