Satriani headed on tour in 2016

It’s time to break out the air guitars. Guitarist Joe Satriani is back and touring with a band that includes Marco Minneman (drums),Bryan Beller (bass) and Mike Keneally on keys & guitar. His 45-show tour is appropriately dubbed “30 Years of Mind-Bending Guitar Daredevilry” and will take him from Southern California well into Canada.

Expect to hear lots of Satch classics as well as material from his latest opus and 15th solo album to date, Shockwave Supernova. The album, which came out in August, debuted at at #19 on Billboard’s Top 200 Current Albums Chart. As if that weren’t an amazing enough feat, it also debuted at # 3 on the Billboard Rock Chart and has the distinction of being the highest charting all-instrumental rock album on Billboard’s Top 200 in the SoundScan era.

Whether you’re a fan of Not Of This Earth (1986), Flying in a Blue Dream (1989), Crystal Planet (1998) or even Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock (2008) makes little difference. Prepare for a set list that will make fans remember why they bought his early records in the first place.
