axlroseWith Brian Johnson having chose “bust” over “rock,” the hunt for a replacement to fill the AC/DC singer’s shoes for the remaining tour dates continues. And while Johnson hasn’t said much since he returned home, there’s been a lot of debate over who might fill in for him. And according to no less a source than some dude that works at a classic rock station in Atlanta, they’ve found their singer, and it’s Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose. What? First of all, how come all our Axl Rose information is coming from random people these days? Second of all, What again? Here’s what Alternative Nation says that Rock 100.5 morning jock Jason Bailey said on the air:

“This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows. All 10, including Atlanta.”

“From what I was told, this was all kind of new inside information to me, Angus is a very black and white guy. He’s like, Brian, for health reasons, can’t continue fronting the band. He was supposed to retire after the last tour, so they wanted to continue going out on the road and continue making music, so if you can’t do it, we appreciate your services, but the show must go on. They’re in town, they were auditioning people for the job, and then they flew Axl in, again, this is from my source.”

We’re pretty sure his source might’ve been that random guy at the airport that ran into Axl a few days ago. That’s the only way any of this makes sense. We’ve never heard Axl cover AC/DC. Paul McCartney? Sure. Bob Dylan? Yup. A bunch of punk bands? Indeed, but nary an AC/DC cover (okay, maybe one). And we’re not saying he couldn’t do a good job if he wanted to. But why would he want to? And would AC/DC want to put up with a guy that cancels shows because he gets a bad vibe from his psychic? And why would Axl go on tour with AC/DC if he could sell out the same stadiums with his own reunited band? We’re not saying this isn’t happening, but there’s no way this can be happening.
