Alice Cooper was the original king of shock rock, while Marilyn Manson essentially took over his throne in the late 90’s. Now to the two will be for the Masters of Madness tour this summer.
So far, only three dates have been officially announced. And while two leaked dates made its way online earlier this week, Manson and Coopers’ posts on their respective websites confirm that the tour is indeed happening. The three dates confirmed thus far find the two performing in cities like Salt Lake City, St. Charles, MO and Rockford, IL this coming June, with more dates to follow shortly.
A tour package featuring Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson seems like a no brainer (somewhat surprising it hasn’t happened already). As we mentioned before, the two are viewed by many as the epitome of shock rock. Plus, both share a common thread in that they’ve previously toured with Rob Zombie (though Manson’s tour with him didn’t end so well).
Back in 2007, when both appeared at Romania’s B’Estival, Manson joined Cooper onstage to perform “I’m Eighteen.” Cooper returned the favor later that night to join Manson during his cover of “Sweet Dreams.” Whether we’ll get to see repeats of those performances during this tour is yet to be known.
