Giraffe Tongue Orchestra (Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Dillinger Escape Plan) to tour

Posted by on September 19, 2016

It took almost a year for Killer Be Killed, a supergroup featuring Mastodon’s Troy Sanders, Max Cavalera and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato, to play their first live show. With Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, another supergroup featuring members of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Mastodon, we’re not going to have to wait that long. The band, which features Ben Weinman and Brent Hinds, respectively, as well as Alice In Chains’ William DuVall, have an album, Broken Lines, coming out on Friday (23), and they’ll be touring in support of it. We’re going to have to wait a few months, but Mastodon, Alice In Chains and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s touring plans, or lack thereof, have a two week hole in which GTO will be able to play eight dates that includse stops on both coasts and a few in the midwest. Here’s where you’ll be able to catch the band:

11/29 Boston, MA @ The Sinclair
12/01 New York, NY @ Gramercy Theatre
12/02 Philadelphia, PA @ Union Transfer
12/03 Chicago, IL @ Bottom Lounge
12/06 San Francisco, CA @ The Independent
12/07 Los Angeles, CA @ Teragram Ballroom
12/08 Seattle, WA @ Neumos
12/10 Detroit, MI @ Magic Stick

In addition, the band have released a bloody NSFW video for “Blood Moon” that seems equal parts inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill films and Gwen Stefani’s culture-appropriating harajuku girls. If you’ve ever wanted to see Ben Weinman, Brent Hinds, William Duvall or Thomas Pridgen die violent deaths at the hands of deadly creepy female assassins, then this is the video for you.
