Sorry for the teasing headline, but this is a tour American fans will have to wait a little longer for. It’s been announced that Def Leppard will be co-headlining six dates in the UK this coming December with fellow 80’s hair rockers Motley Crue. Support will come from 80’s glam metal lovers Steel Panther.

What makes this bill so juicy, though, is the mini-feud Def Leppard created via the press with their LA hair metal peers. Back in 2008, Leppard singer Joe Elliot said in a press conference that most LA glam bands (including Motley Crue and Poison) had no “substance.” However, Elliot later on (on Nikki Sixx’s radio show, mind you) that his words were taken out of context, and Leppard also went on tour with Poison in 2009. So in other words, this isn’t as juicy of a feud as the one Crue held with Poison (who they just finished a tour with this past Summer). Also, Sixx has made no effort to hide that he would rather tour with Def Leppard and/or Guns N’ Roses than with Poison (they were just the only band available at the time, apparently).

Just in case you’ll by chance be in the UK this coming December, you can check out dates for what we’re dubbing the “Def Crue with Panthers” tour after the jump. Also, in case you’re only interested in seeing Steel Panther but are on a different coast from LA and Las Vegas (where they perform regularly), then you’re in luck. The band will be performing at the Gramercy Theatre in NYC on October 11, just one week prior to the release of their new album Balls Out.

Here are the UK dates:

12/8 – Nottingham, UK @ FM Arena

12/9 – Glasgow, UK @ SECC Hall 4

12/11 – Manchester, UK @ MEN Arena
