Black Sabbath announced what’s going to be their final tour ever early last month, and while the winter 2016 tour would’ve been a nice way to cap off a 45 year career, it terns out they’re not done yet. They’ve announced an entirely separate leg of the tour that will find them touring this Summer, starting at Jones Beach in Long Island on August 17th and wrapping up a month later in Phoenix. This seems potentially a little more final, given that it’s later in the year, and 2016 will be a lot closer to over by the time they wrap up the tour.
The question remains though, will there be another studio album to go along with their final tour? It was initially stated as such, but wouldn’t we have heard some rumblings about it being recorded? While there’s been no talk of a Black Sabbath album, Sharon did say that Ozzy was working on a “really special” solo album. It’ll be interesting to see if the band are able to craft another studio album around the suddenly more full touring schedule they have in 2016. Also interesting: if there’s any possibility that Bill Ward will return.
