Death Valley High’s top five favorite Instagram accounts you should follow

Posted by on August 30, 2016

On November 4th, California’s Death Valley High will be releasing their third full-length album, the awesomely-titled CVLT [As FVK] on minusHEAD Records. If you’ve logged time around the turn of the century listening to the likes of Static-X, Orgy, Korn and Marilyn Manson on a CD walkman, you’ll enjoy the FVK out of these guys. In fact, the four-piece band got Ulrich Wild (White Zombie, Deftones) to produce the new album, which seamlessly blends goth, metal and alternative in a way that sounds a little throwbacky, but not too retro. We asked singer/guitarist Reyka Osburn what his five favorite Instagram accounts to follow were, and this is what he came back with. You can pre-order CVLT [As FVK] here.

Passedoutpunx – Lifestyle

We’ve all been there. Over or under stimulated, a brief moment away from the action could be all the time you need to drift off. These two girls hit the jackpot with this account of punks who’ve had way too much fun. Whether self-submitted or “caught in the act”, you can count on a laugh. Watch for “peak season” around the annual Punk Rock Bowling Festival.

139dec – Fashion

This account shows off two St. Petersburg designers and their experiments in fashion. Gigantic hoods and drapey long fittings, they surely make for some inspirational #CVLTASFVK aesthetics.

Blacktattoomag – Tattoos

Tattoos from everywhere dominate this feed of monochrome (and mostly monochrome) tattoos. Even if you don’t like tattoos, you’ll be hard pressed not to find some truly exceptional and inspiring skin art.

Darkbeautymag – Photography

Dark Beauty is a magazine that showcases the darker sensibilities of artists, fashionistas, photographers, and musicians, etc. Their Instagram shows all of the above except for the musicians! Beautiful pictures own the layout and you’re sure to find some disturbingly offensive or brutally beautiful imagery.

SAV NOIR – Fashion

LA transplants, SAV NOIR, are fashion designers originally from our hometown of San Francisco. With a kindred spirit of loving “all black everything”, this account perfectly covers all different aspects of #GRIMMIE culture “after dusk”.
