3. System Of A Down – May 7, 2005
System Of A Down were no strangers to TV by the time they played SNL in 2005. However, their performance of “B.Y.O.B.” during the show raised a few eyebrows thanks to guitarist Daron Malakian’s potty mouth. NBC censors were already prepared to mute the cursing throughout the song (afterall, there’s a lot of cursing in almost all of SOAD’s songs), but unfortunately for them they didn’t catch Malakian’s extra “Fuck Yeah” towards the end of the song. Also an added bonus was seeing SOAD play “Aerials” (even though the song had come out roughly four years prior).
