This really should come as no surprise, as there have been contradictory reports about a Black Sabbath reunion since Tony Iommi first let it slip (and then played it down) that the original four members were possibly working together again. While we knew a full blown reunion was still well off into the future, both Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne have given hope that a Sabbath reunion could happen. Well, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Iommi said that while everyone has maintained contact with each other, the last time the four have been in the same room was “A long time ago.”

However, at this point you may be thinking to yourself “Wait, didn’t Iommi just say that the four of them recently rehearsed for the first time in a while?” Well, though he admitted that nothing has been set in stone, Iommi did reveal to both Terrorizer and digital radio station Planet Rock that the original lineup has rehearsed together not too long ago and were in “talks.” So what gives with the Rolling Stone interview?

While each interview was published or posted online recently,  it’s unclear as to when the interviews were actually conducted. So it could be that Rolling Stone either caught up with Iommi before Black Sabbath rehearsed together, or that the rehearsals Iommi referred to weren’t as recent as originally implied. Whichever it may be, this further proves that we won’t be getting a straight answer about a Black Sabbath reunion for a while now.
