Earlier last month it was confirmed that Jake E left Amaranthe, a band he co-founded and been part of for all four studio albums. He didn’t seem to agree with the band’s new musical direction and wanted to stick with a more metal style. Around the same time Jake E’s status with Amaranthe was in question, In Flames bassist Peter Iwers announced his departure from the group after a near twenty-year run. Since then, the two joined forces and created a new musical adventure, recruiting former In Flames guitarist Jesper Strömblad and Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody drummer Alex Landenburg. The new project is called CyHrA and it’s promised to deliver something completely new. They are currently in the studio to record their debut album aiming for a Fall release via Spinefarm.

The band announced on their Facebook:

We are extremely proud & thrilled to announce the coming of a new band!

After working for more than a year behind closed doors we are here to finally break the news!

Jesper Strömblad – guitars

Jake E – vocals

Alex Landenburg – drums

Peter Iwers – bass

The vast experience all four of us have gathered during our times in previous bands creates the perfect background for unlimited inspiration and a result of highly mastered musical craftsmanship. The songs; as hard as it is right now to put a description on them, they are a mix of all that… yet something completely new!

March 2017, CyHrA enter the studio to record the debut album. Worldwide release Autumn 2017 through Spinefarm / Universal”
