It’s been far too long since Baroness released a new album. Ok, so it’s actually only been three years since the release of Blue Record. But considering how great of an album it is, you can understand why we’re excited that the Savannah, GA sludge metal group will finally release a new album this Summer.

And on July 17, Baroness will release their third full length Yellow & Green via Relapse Records. The new album finds Baroness reteaming with producer John Congleton. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait a little longer to hear any new material or see the cover artwork (possibly just as exciting as hearing the songs). While hopefully new music will pop up sooner, chances are Baroness will test out at least one new tune live during their tour with Meshuggah and Decapitated. And if what John Baizley hinted at in this recent interview in Alternative Press is true, you might want to catch the tour, since it could be the last time they’ll be touring with metal bands as heavy as those two.
