Last year, Vio-lence vocalist Sean Killian was diagnosed with stage four liver cirrhosis. The cause was for the most part, a genetic condition, and without a liver transplant, it’s a life-threatening disease. Given the fragilities, Killian, who fronted the ’80’s thrash band that also included Machine Head’s Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel, finally found a liver donor, which turned out to be his brother-in-law Kevin Rivero. The vocalist went into surgery this past Monday (26th) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

His wife, Dana Rivero Killian, released the following statement via social media:

“Sean would like you all to know he is eternally grateful for all the love and support these past couple of years and fully intends to return to the stage once he is healed and ready to bring it! (No. NOT a VIO-ENCE reunion, so don’t ask.)

I think we could all use a celebratory concert! We all have a great deal to be thankful for.

There are simply too many people to mention by name. You know who you are.”
