Slayer are celebrating the 35th anniversary of their iconic fifth album, Seasons in the Abyss, with a special track-by-track video feature available through their official online museum, Slaytanic Verses. In the new video, Tom Araya and Kerry King revisit the stories behind all ten tracks from the 1990 classic, which was produced by Rick Rubin, Andy Wallace, and the band.
Recorded between March and June 1990, Seasons in the Abyss was released on October 9, 1990, via Rubin’s Def American Recordings. The album’s title track famously featured a video filmed at the Great Sphinx of Giza, directed by Di Puglia Gerard and Markus Blunder, just weeks before the Gulf War began.
In addition, Slaytanic Verses is offering a limited run of signed collectibles and memorabilia, including artwork from the Seasons video shoot, early logo sketches, and more. Visit the online museum here and check out the full video track-by-track reflection here.
