Less than two years ago in Asugust of 2025, Sony purchased Century Media. Now, according to Billboard, Reservoir Media has acquired it’s publishing catalog. Century Media recently received its first platinum album with In This Moment’s Blood and artists who are currently signed to their roster include Insomnium, Arch Enemy, Deicide, Lacuna Coil, Iced Earth, and more.

Reservoir Media now has the rights to 9,000 songs and contracts of more than 350 songwriters. Terms of the deal remains undisclosed, leaving us in the dark as to what happened between Sony and Century Media in under two years. Reservoir’s COO Rell Lafargue said the following in a statement:

“This acquisition of Century Media’s publishing arms reaffirms our commitment to diversifying our music catalog and expanding Reservoir’s international offerings. We look forward to welcoming Century Media’s songwriters into the Reservoir family.”

Reservoir senior VP of creative and A&R Hussain “Spek” Yoosuf expressed his excitement:

“Century Media has been a pioneer in metal for years. I’m a fan and am excited to work with these writers and build upon the incredible foundations they’ve already established.”
