The festival season in Czechia is set to kick off with a bang at Metalfest Pilsen this year, as the festival will be headlined by none other than Five Finger Death Punch, making their debut at this series of festivals. But that’s not all, as the billing also offers a lot of fine cuts for lovers of both traditional and more extreme styles of metal, ranging from melodic metal acts like Tarja Turunen (a mainstay of Pragokoncert festivals and events), Sonata Arctica, Eluveitie, Orden Ogan and my former bandmates of Visions of Atlantis to heavier playstyles performed by the likes of Norway’s Dimmu Borgir, Septicflesh or Brazilian thrashers Nervosa.

It’s also once again a great opportunity to discover new bands, as some pretty hot new commodities will be appearing at he festival as well, such as new Zombie-metal band Dominum, the always-fun Brothers of Metal, and Illumishade, just to name a few.
