After being forced to cancel and postpone in both 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Pragokoncert’s flagship festival, Masters of Rock, is set to return this summer. The event is scheduled to return to the distillery of R. Jelinek in Vizovice in July 2022. Hopefully, the event can finally take place on its new rescheduled dates from July 7th to 10th.

This edition of Masters of Rock features arguably the biggest headlining act in the festival’s history when NWoBHM legends Judas Priest will celebrate their “50 Heavy Metal Years” anniversary. Especially after guitarist Richie Faulkner’s health scare during the band’s recent US tour, it would mark the triumphant return for the Metal Gods to Czechia.

The rest of the billing has a lot to offer, including Nightwish and Black Label Society, also top headliners. The lineup consists of high-caliber metal bands, including Sepultura, Heaven Shall Burn, Testament, and Kataklysm. There will also be more melodic metal and rock acts like former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, horror-rockers Lordi, Beast in Black, Alestorm, and Swiss hard rockers Gotthard. The festival will have a lot to offer for everybody.

There will also be a number of hidden gems on the artist roster, such as Brazilian all-female thrashers Nervosa and my former band Visions of Atlantis, who will perform a special set together with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague.
