New details have reportedly emerged about the final moments of Ozzy Osbourne’s life. The 76-year-old metal icon and Black Sabbath frontman passed away on Tuesday (22), at his Buckinghamshire home, surrounded by family. According to reports from The Standard and Daily Mail, an air ambulance was dispatched to Osbourne’s estate in Chalfont St Giles around 10:30 a.m. Paramedics reportedly spent two hours attempting to revive him, but were ultimately unsuccessful. The helicopter departed the scene around 12:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Air Ambulance confirmed:
“We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday.”
Ozzy’s sister, Jean Powell, spoke to The Mirror, expressing how his death was unexpected, stating:
“He was frail but it still came as a shock. He still had plans and things he wanted to do. We don’t know the details of his death; it’s still too early. It’s just so sad. I’m just thankful he died in England.”
While no official cause of death has been given, Osbourne had battled multiple health issues in recent years, including Parkinson’s disease, complications from a serious fall, and testing positive for COVID-19 in 2022. Just weeks before his death, Ozzy gave a final farewell performance at Back to the Beginning, held in Birmingham, the birthplace of Black Sabbath. It was his last appearance on stage, both as a solo artist and with the band.
