This weekend (12th) kicks off Kirk Hammett’s Horror and Sci-Fi film art collection to be displayed at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. The It’s Alive!  exhibit will be showcased up until November 26, and it will feature Hammett’s extensive collection he has built over the last three decades consisting of over 100 works ranging from posters, lobby cards, guitars, film props, costumes, toys, and original artwork.

Metallica are currently wrapping up their North America WorldWired run which concludes next Wednesday (16th) in Edmonton, Alberta. Therefore, the guitarist most likely will be unable to attend the opening night of the exhibit. However, the following Saturday (19th), the Peabody Essex Museum will welcome the icon for two special events.

Hammett will be in Salem, MA for an exhibition catalog signing from 4:30 – 5:30 PM following an evening conversation with exhibition curator Daniel Finamore from 8:00 – 9:15 PM. Tickets for both events will go on sale tomorrow (10th) at noon.

There are only 100 tickets available for the book signing which includes the museum admission voucher, a professional photo taken with Hammett and an autographed copy of the It’s Alive! catalog. Prices are $100 for nonmembers and $80 for members. Tickets for the conversation with Hammett are $50 for nonmembers, $40 for members, and $30 for students. Additional ticket information can be found here.
