Last week, Justin Bieber shared an image of lyrics to Tool’s “The Pot” via Instagram asking his fans if they know the song. While his post has since been deleted, it has made headlines as Maynard James Keenan responded to the news with one single hashtag: “#bummer.” Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey has now responded to Keenan stating what he did was “very childish and hurtful thing to do.”

You can read her response below:

“He expressed he was a fan of your music. Grew up listening to your music. You must be unhappy with yourself that you want to make people feel small who express their admiration for you. Very childish and hurtful thing to do. I hope u find security within yourself. Sad place to be.”

Hopefully, the next time we hear about Tool will be either a brand new song from the group or see more of their music available on streaming services. Tool’s 1991 demo tape 72826 has recently surfaced on YouTube, Apple Music, Google Play, and Pandora. Tool’s as-yet-to-be-titled new album is currently scheduled to arrive on August 30th.
