The 2025 Golden Globes, held on Sunday (5), saw a mix of heartfelt moments and unexpected humor. Among the night’s highlights of the metal world were Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross winning Best Original Score for their work on Challengers. This marks their third Golden Globe win, following victories for The Social Network (2011) and Soul (2021). The 82nd Golden Globe Award Ceremony was hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, who took a humorous turn. Glaser made a surprising joke, citing actress Glenn Close had once played drums for System of a Down. Guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian caught the joke and decided to continue with the fictitious humor, stating on Instagram:
“Bet you didn’t know!!!!Bet you didn’t know!!!!!Somewhere between our first drummer and John, Glenn Close was tearing shit up on the drums for us!!!!!!#soad#systemofadown#glennclose#dmsob#scarsonbroadway“
