Swedish metal giants Ghost has unveiled the name for the name behind their “new” frontman, Papa V Perpetua, who will lead the band through their 2025 touring cycle. His name will make his first appearance among the performers for Black Sabbath’s final concert on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. GHOST later confirmed his involvement via social media, stating, “We wish to inform you V is coming… to Birmingham on July 5th.”

GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge has continuously introduced new personas for the band’s frontman role. Each iteration of Papa Emeritus replaced the previous one until Cardinal Copia took over for 2018’s Prequelle. In 2020, Papa Emeritus IV was introduced at the band’s final Prequelle tour stop in Mexico City, leading the Impera album cycle. Now, the arrival of Papa V Perpetua marks the next chapter for the group.
