Dino Cazares, head honcho at Fear Factory, has revealed, in an interview with Bucket List  that he has narrowed his search for a singer down to one person. You may recall that we reported, back in September, singer Burton C Bell had announced his departure from Fear Factory saying that he “cannot align” himself with someone whom he does not trust or respect. Legal issues had been going on for four plus years and Bell decided that it was time for him to move on. Dino discussed the current goings on with himself and Fear Factory. While discussing the Fear Factory singer situation, Cazares revealed the the new singer will be a man. While he declined to reveal the identity of the new mystery singer, he did say that the person has experience and is kind of known. Here is a small taste of what Dino had to say,

“For those of you who don’t know, our singer quit after 30 years, so I’ve been looking for a new singer. And I’m first here to tell you that I have definitely nailed it down to one person. I’m not gonna reveal who that is yet — not yet. Once I’m done playing with Soulfly as a fill-in guitarist for the summer U.S tour, I’m gonna go back to L.A., back to the studio, and I’ll be writing some new new Fear Factory songs with the new singer, because I’d like to introduce him with a new song.”

Cazares revealed himself to be in Arizona in rehearsals with Max Cavalera and Soulfly getting ready for their upcoming summer tour. Dino will be filling in on guitar after longtime guitarist Marc Rizzo was released from the band.

This is the first mention of the gender of the singer as Cazares had said that he was open to a female vocalist as well as a male. When asked further Dino said,

“That was true. I auditioned a few women, yes. But it didn’t work out — not because they were female or anything like that. Because I wanted to pick whoever was best for the position, and it turned out to be a guy.”
