Bernie Sanders responds to memes by selling sweatshirts; bands continue sharing them

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has become an internet sensation due to a viral image of him attending The Inauguration of President Joe Biden. The picture shows Sanders bundled up with adorable mittens sitting by his lonesome. The internet took that photo and turned it into an onslaught of memes spanning from movies, shows, music, and more. Essentially, it made social media great again. Sanders has since responded to his new internet fame and joked, “It makes people aware that we make good mittens in Vermont.” The mittens he wore were knitted by Vermont school teacher, Jen Ellis, who says she’s been flooded with requests but is all sold out. Fortunately, Sanders and his team are now selling sweatshirts of the inauguration meme with all proceeds going to charity.
