cultoflostcauseInstrumental trio Cult of the Lost Cause have been unleashing their brand of heaviness since 2011. The Denver band’s style falls somewhere between the ambiance and groove of Pelican or a vocal-less version of Isis, Neurosis or perhaps not coincidentally, Cult of Luna. The band’s 2013 self-titled debut caught the attention of Sailor Records, who will be releasing the band’s sophomore album, Contritions, on February 26th.

Today we’re premiering “All Those Opposed,” a seven-minute jam that’s all groove – there’s no overindulgent solos – or of course, vocals – to distract from the what Cult of the Lost Cause are doing. You can hear another song from Contritions on their bandcamp page, which is also where you can pre-order the album. If you’re in Denver on February 27th, they’ll be playing Hi-Dive.
