Looks like someone let the Ratt out of the bag – Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy and Warren DiMartini are teaming up with Foo Fighters mastermind Dave Grohl for an as-yet-undisclosed track. It first came to our attention from the Stephen Pearcy tweet off to the right. That’s right, Dave Grohl, who can pretty much do no wrong, and assembled one of the coolest/most underground vanity projects ever with Probot, is teaming up with the voice and guitarist of seminal ’80s metal band Ratt.
Pearcy went into more detail via his Facebook page, no doubt to calm the storm of Ratt fans outraged that Bobby Blotzer might not be involved.
F*^K, calm down! Warren & I are recording an original song (Grohl song idea open to Ratt madness) for a project for Dave. He’s way cool and we’re ready to go next week. That’s what I’m talikn’ about. Oh Yeh!
Ratt new record songs are comin’ along just fine. Demo tunez, Record a couple, few ideas next week.
Can you say Ratt n” Roll 2012.
Yes we can say Ratt n” Roll 2012! Not only are we psyched that Grohl came up with a song idea with Ratt in mind, it’s also exciting to note that Ratt’s actually working on another new album. While most comeback albums smack of desperation, 2009’s Infestation was actually a solid record. As long as they don’t blow it, new Ratt could be one of the non-guilty pleasures of the year. Also, it’s kind of great to see Stephen Pearcy say “way cool” in a Facebook post.
