We knew something was happening in the Lamb of God camp, with their new website sounding down to 1pm (EST) today over the past few weeks. And we got what we were hoping for – a new song from the band. “Still Echoes” is the first track from the band’s 7th album, appropriately titled VII: Sturn Und Drang. The album will be out in July, which is just around the time the band will be hitting the road with Slipknot.
It’s great to hear Lamb of God back. It’s not necessarily heavier than anything the band’s done before, but it’s signature LoG. Starting out with a blast beat before settling into a furious groove, it’s hands down one of the more exciting things to cross our desk this week. The lyrics appear to be political in nature, with refernces to World War II, the Eastern Bloc, and probably Randy’s own time over in Prague. You can preorder the album in a variety of packages here.
UPDATE: You can also stream the song via the player below.
