With their final/not final album Redeemer of Souls coming out in July, Judas Priest have unveiled the chorus to the album’s first single, “March of the Damned.” And while the death metal band earned a spot earlier this week on our list of bands that got heavier as they went on, you wouldn’t know it from the snippet that they released today. The song is perfectly fine, but sounds like an active rock radio single more than anything that would be on Painkiller, or even Nostradamus. In fact, Halford is somewhat restrained, sounding almost like the singer of Silversun Pickups. We’ll reserve judgement on the song and album until we hear more of it.

Redeemer of Souls will be released on July 15th in the United States and a day earlier in the UK.
